I ended up an Everton fan because they used to throw toffees around the stands into the crowd, big handfuls they threw. I loved those toffees. My brother was the Liverpool fan so I did go to the Kop – wow it was packed to the rafters – you couldn’t go the loo so you rolled up your newspaper into a cone and had a quick pee. If you were at the top it was OK but at the bottom it was like the River Mersey flooding past!
